Trump and Iran

I know that Trump likes to think of solving problems in terms of deal-making. Iran is known for not keeping deals and dragging out negotiations indefinitely. History may not always repeat itself, but it always rhymes. Iran is not dealing from a position of strength, and that is obvious with their losses in recent battles, which include their proxies. They also have a critical water problem in their country that will cause a government that likes to spend money on conquest to divert resources to it. They have attacked civilians and public infrastructure in neighboring countries, which has not gained them favor.

They are unlawfully trying to control an international waterway with violence and fear. They are charging tolls to pass through a waterway that is not theirs. These are not rational people governing Iran; they are terrorists and hardcore Islamists, and should be dealt with as such. Trump needs to set the conditions for peace and walk away, giving them a reasonable time frame to accept or deny. I am starting to think ego may be getting in the way of rationality for the negotiators on both sides.
