I am a reformed sports addict who lives in fly over country. After the kneeling debacle with the NFL, my waning enthusiasm for sports waned even more.
I relented and watched the last two playoff games, one thing became very obvious. The penalties and no calls were stacked against the small market teams.
It really upset me at first but upon realizing that professional sports is a business based on profits, it all became even more obvious. A Super Bowl game between two of the biggest markets on each coast will garner massive viewership and ad revenues.
That is the bottom line, and businesses tend to the bottom line first.
Amen!

Thank you. Sports seems to be the “opiate of the masses”
