National Security Apparatus is Domestic Spying

I have had a suspicion since the Martin Luther King days that the national security apparatus is nothing more than a tool for politicians to spy on their political opponents. When Snowden came forth and blew the whistle that all Americans were subject to spying by the federal government it became even more apparent.

Go back to the days of 911, and the tragedy on that day. We were told to believe that Saudi operatives who had overstayed their visas were solely responsible. Even if you took the government at their word, why were five Saudi nationals running around freely inside of our country with expired visas? Red flags should’ve been going up everywhere as the wahabbism in Saudi Arabia had been known to breed terrorists.

The response was a never ending unwinnable war in Afghanistan, the TSA, and DHS. So in effect the government rewards itself with more defense spending, and two more alphabet agencies to keep us safe.

Since that era our national debt has almost quadrupled as or government continues to out grow the economy.

The tax cuts were a good start and I am glad to see Trump taking on the criminality that has taken over the government. Less money sent to DC is always a plus. Now it is time to tackle the real problem, fiscal responsibility.

Stop letting the government spend more than it takes in and start paying down the 20 trillion dollar debt. This would dry up the swamp in a hurry. If Mr. Trump is serious about draining the swamp, this would be the way to do it.
