Mount Tambora’s 1815 Eruption Was the Biggest in History

The list of the biggest volcanoes in popular consciousness isn’t very long — Mount Vesuvius, Mount St. Helens, Krakatoa … and that’s about it. Which is why it’s so strange that the biggest volcano ever isn’t on that list. Especially since it’s responsible for so much of modern culture.

Scientists Are Developing Real Supersuits

I loved the “Thundercats” cartoon as a child, watching cat-like humanoids fighting the forces of evil. Whenever their leader was in trouble, he’d unleash the Sword of Omens to gain “sight beyond sight,” the ability to see events happening at faraway places, or bellow “Thunder, Thunder, Thunder, Thundercats, Hooo!” to instantaneously summon his allies to his location to join the fight. What kid didn’t want those superpowers?I also wanted Green Lantern’s ring, Wonder Woman’s bracelets, Captain America’s shield, and of course Batman’s batsuit. I never imagined then that 30 years later I’d be designing components of my own supersuits.

Al Gore Forecast there would be NO Ice remaining at the North Pole by 2013 | Armstrong Economics

Al Gore in 2009 forecast that there would be no more ice by 2013. The BBC reported those crazy forecasts back in 2007. I have explained many times that the forecasting methods uses is to assume whatever trend is in motion will remain in motion forever. In other words, is the Dow Jones were to rally by 25% in one year, then they would predict that same percentage movement will continue forever. The methodology is completely void of any cyclical understanding how everything functions according to a cycle in the universe.

We May Be Floating in the Middle of the Observable Universe’s Largest Void

There’s a lot of stuff here on Earth. Then again, everything is relative. In the grandest of the grand scheme of things — like, a universe-wide scheme — our planet is a lonely little dot in the midst of a whole lot of nothing. According to a 2017 study, the rest of the universe is having a party, and we’re just over here in the celestial boondocks.

The First Molecule Ever Possible Has Been Seen in Space

It takes a rich and diverse set of complex molecules for things like stars, galaxies, planets and lifeforms like us to exist. But before humans and all the complex molecules we’re made of could exist, there had to be that first primordial molecule that started a long chain of chemical events that led to everything you see around you today.Though it’s been long theorized to exist, the lack of observational evidence for that molecule was problematic for scientists. Now they’ve found it and those scientists can rest easy. Their predictive theory wins!
