I have made the same change. Since not using Google platforms is part of my personal philosophy, the iPad has made it easy. If you get a virus of malware, you simply reset it after saving your data to the cloud. Not so easy with the Macbook.

I still us my MacBook for photo editing as it does a much better job. That could change too.
