Quantum Computers Pose a Big Threat to Internet Security

If all the world had were water balloons, the guy with the Super Soaker would reign supreme. That’s essentially the situation with the arrival of quantum computers. They’re so powerful that it takes them mere hours to solve problems that would take modern computers years to work through. That means that the moment the first quantum computer turns on, encrypted data across the internet is pretty much up for grabs. That is, unless we do something about it.

4 Up-and-Coming Batteries That Could Overtake Lithium-Ion

Lithium-ion batteries — the power behind your phone, laptop, and basically any rechargeable device you own — may be on their last legs. A series of bad events, from high-profile battery fires to environmental concerns to the rising cost of its namesake material, has experts scrambling to find a safer, more efficient, less expensive substance to power our gadgets.

The Mystery of Pi | Armstrong Economics

QUESTION: Hi Mr. Armstrong, I just encountered this video.: Can you explain why Pi is showing up there? Thanks and kind regards, M ANSWER: No. I have come to believe that Pi is strangely the key to all knowledge upon which the entire universe was constructed. The sun’s light takes about 8.6 minutes to reach the Earth after it has been emitted from the sun’s surface. This is a derivative of Pi. Does that mean that life will evolve on a planet that conforms to Pi? It is assumed that it takes our galaxy approximately about 230 million years to make one complete orbit around the Milky Way! I suspect it is really 224 million years and that would comport with Pi. On a basic level, Pi seems very simple for it is the ratio of a circle’s circumference divided by its diameter. This ratio is always the same no matter how large the circle (orbit) – 3.14 or so. Obviously, anytime you find yourself working with circles, arcs, pendulums, etc. you find Pi popping up. Therefore, you will be confronted with Pi when looking at gears, spherical helium balloons, and pendulum clocks. However, as this illustration exposes, you also find Pi in many unexpected places for reasons that seem to have nothing at all to do with circles at all. Pi even shows up in the gravity. (see Wired). I have discovered that Pi shows up in economics as well as nature. I can only explain that it exists on all planes within this universe. It appears to be the cornerstone upon which everything in the universe was constructed.

The Plutonium “Demon Core” Killed Two Physicists Without Ever Exploding

After the end of World War II, research on nuclear weapons continued at the top-secret Los Alamos Laboratories in New Mexico. Over the course of just under a year, a nuclear core of plutonium had claimed the lives of two physicists and sparked radical change in how nuclear research was undertaken.

Life Threatening Winter Storms | Armstrong Economics

Parts of Canada could become the coldest spot on the planet with a winter storm coming with crazy frigid temperatures with wind chill factors in the -40oC level for some. This going to be really dangerous. Quite frankly, the human body was NOT designed to handle conditions like that. This is really very dangerous cold and not hype. Your eyes can actually freeze. Anyone who has ever been in real cold will notice that in cold weather notes your eyes will tear up, which is your body’s natural defense trying to reduce the freezing point. You better start regularly blinking your eyes to prevent them from freezing and going blind. While your eyes can’t freeze solid, your extremities can. That includes feet, fingers, and toes. They can actually freeze to the point that the can even fall off your body, or else needing to be amputated. The human body is designed to maintain a core temperature of 98.6oF (37oC) exactly! Any deviation from that causes serious problems. When the body temperature begins to drop, that’s when hypothermia sets in. The statistics in Canada show that more than 80 people die from extreme cold, according to Environment Canada. People who have died from hypothermia seem to lose brain function and become completely confused. They begin taking off their clothes in their final death throes apparently assuming they are hot rather than cold. If the migration of the North Pole is contributing to this extremely cold weather nobody really knows. We are definitely moving into Solar Minimum. Our greatest risk at this stage in the game is major volcanic eruptions that throw such much debris into the atmosphere we end up with a volcanic winter.
