QUESTION: So is there any difference between a Robot and a person trading if they just follow the same system on a single market? ANSWER: Any system that is created which claims to be some robo-trading system is vulnerable to a contagion that impacts a given market from external sources. We are entering a highly correlated global capital flow era which events external to a domestic market can overwhelm a domestic economy and any market. The only difference between a robo-trading system and a human is that the human can get all emotion and panic. The computer would not do that, but it would be vulnerable to external forces and would not be able to make a judgment call. The only possible way to overcome this is a complete global model which is monitoring everything and will pick up the external contagions. You can visually see this using the Global Market Watch. In all honesty, we should look at what political party has been in power in these cities for decades. The answer would overwhelmingly be the Democrats. I am not fond of Rotherham Republicans at the national level, but the ones at the local level seem to be better at governance, unless they go to Washington. 😉

China and Trump

Before the personal income tax was implement in America, the government was financed by tariffs imposed on foreign made goods. This kept goods made in America competitive with goods made in other countries with cheap or slave labor.

Politicians signed so called ‘free trade’ treaties and many of our trading partners have enjoyed huge trade deficits with us by adding tariffs to our imports. Making their products cheaper. Some of our products they have banned.

We have large trade deficits with China and many other trading partners, some we protect militarily like South Korea and Japan. Trump is on the right track by trying to renegotiate our unfair trade treaties with these countries.

I would much rather see him raise tariffs than raise taxes again on working Americans. Free trade is a two way street and we have been taken advantage of for too long. Time for a new way of thinking that puts the American worker and taxpayers first.
