Outlaw Government Pensions? The Hunt for Endless Taxes | Armstrong Economics

The commentary that has appeared in Forbes calls for the only solution is to outlaw pensions. This is actually what will happen. Because there is no resolution, the government pensions will demand to raise taxes and then there is never any reform in government so the end game is one major economic confrontation – the people v government. They really cannot grasp that the crisis is profound. For every person who retires, the government hires a replacement. The cost of government explodes exponentially. The system is doomed and this is what is going to rise up into civil unrest. Federal governments can create money but state/provincial and local government can only raise taxes. In Germany, the lessor governments are petitioning the federal government for a bailout since already 40% are effectively broke. It is this desperate letter we received from California trying to claim we must pay taxes simply because Amazon may store some reports or DVDs in their California warehouse. If you buy something from Amazon, they send it to you and collect whatever tax. They remit the tax and we do not mail the products nor receiver the taxes collected. We would have no idea what tax would be owed to California. Obviously, we have no choice but to inform Amazon to remove all our products from California. If everyone is compelled to do the same, then there go those jobs in their California warehouse. There is no rational reasoning with these people. They will simply destroy the economy because they are greedy and beyond hope. What will happen is drastic. Do companies not residing in California simply refuse to do business with anyone from California? Already we cannot send printed reports or books to Australia. Amazon refuses to deal with Australia because of taxes and our Australian clients can only get downloads. Eventually, Australia will impose internet taxes and that will only isolate Australia. This is all becoming insane.

The too generous public pensions allow serving politicians to be seen as generous. When the generous pensions come due, the same politicians are retired and drawing pensions themselves. Once again, no accountability for elected officials. Many of the double dip, drawing pensions from multiple pension funds, all supported by taxpayers who only get SSI.

How the Hunt for Taxes will Destroy Everything | Armstrong Economics

It really is very astonishing how brain-dead politicians are. The latest stats are showing that residents are increasingly fleeing New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. The perpetually rising taxes are just getting insane. We just received this notice ourselves about taxes due in California. Apparently, they must have subpoenaed Amazon to see who has merchandise they are storing in California. First of all, we have no idea where Amazon stores what it sells of our products or to whom. You pay Amazon – not us. To claim that since Amazon is storing something of ours in California means we are now doing business in California is completely nuts. They collect the taxes and ship whatever someone purchases – not us! If every state acts in this manner, quite honestly it is time to just close the doors. What is next? They will want income taxes on anything we sell in California on a per item basis? The accounting will cost more than the tax we collect or have to pay. This is a sure fire way to destroy the economy all because those in governments are incapable of managing even a bubblegum machine. The hunt for taxes will destroy everything.

First, government spends money they do not have, by kicking the can. After this comes the hunt for more taxes, as they try to tax themselves into solvency. Why not just shrink government to the size of solvency? I digress, as we know “when you feed the dragon 🐉 it gets larger, it will never get smaller”

This is unsustainable by any measure. The government does not need more taxes, it needs less spending. Tax breaks take the money away from Washington DC politicians and put it in the private sector to create wealth. Governments do not create wealth.

This is why GDP should not include government spending. It is a distortion that defies economic logic.

Pat sums it up quite well here. We need to view China as an adversary and not a most favored trade partner. China has spread so much money around Washington DC that the politicians are bowing to China and all of their mischief. Selling our country and way of life down the road in the process.

Our corporations are so greedy for cheap labor that they refuse to hold the Chinese government accountable. Consumers here are guilty for the same reasons.

Trump is on the right track by confronting China and demanding a level playing field. The PRK is nothing more than a little China or their nasty little surrogate, we should view the PRK and China as one in the same.

Our national debt will be our eventual demise not foreign entities, but the enemy within. We need to cut deficit spending, force fair trade treaties, get out of useless military entanglements, and the UN.

That would only be the beginning.

This is an example of why this race tribalism has gone too far in dividing us and distracting us from a debt monster that is going to gobble up these young people’s future. The politicians and governments running up this debt will make debt slaves out of all of them regardless of their race, gender, or any other identity group.

Debt Worldwide Hits Record $184 Trillion, or $86,000 Per Person – Bloomberg

Global debt hit a record $184 trillion last year, equivalent to more than $86,000 per person — more than double the average per-capita income.

Trump has done nothing to stop this and neither has either political party. The politicians think the answer is to raise taxes rather than shrink the government to an affordable size. This debt bubble will explode one day just like it did in Venezuela 🇻🇪. We need to demand fiscal accountability from our government. Instead we argue about diversity, racism, gender, and political one upsmanship . These are all distractions from the debt bubble that will change the life of everyone when it bursts.

Here is the real problem with our politicians. They spend more money than they take from us, and get away with it. Drain the swamp by defunding it. We are 23 trillion dollars in debt with no end in sight.
