It seems that a jury found a illegal immigrant that had been deported six times and was a convicted felon, innocent of the death of Kate Steinle. Not even a verdict of negligent manslaughter was awarded to the case.

My guess is that since the City of San Francisco had recently refused to hold him for ICE agents, before the murder, city officials were concerned about their civil liability. They figured that by politicizing this man as a hapless victim with the verdict, they would not be liable in the civil case.

That poor girl and her family deserved justice, and received none. The moral fabric of our country is in bad need of repair. This was a political lynching of our justice system.
