I do not minimize the horror of anyone being murdered. That being said, the breathless outrage, reporting, and lamenting of politicians is becoming tiresome. I do not know the situation with this alleged murder on a personal level, because I did nor witness it. The drama and posturing around the murder is running rampant.

In our fine inner city area, a one year old girl was killed by a random bullet in a gang related shooting. She was asleep in her crib. There was some coverage in the local media but nothing on the national level. This happens repeatedly in our fine city that has been ran by the same political party for decades. This type of tragedy has become the norm and in these areas we become numb to sure horror.

The baby was not a journalist, and her family was not famous. There were no political points to be scored by this story or press ratings to be obtained. No go fund me account with thousands raised to help the parents. She was just another statistic for black on black crime and inner city violence.

Our moral compass as a country is badly badly broken. I fear for our future as a civilized society. This breaks my heart.
