The Obama administration is intent on ceding the control of the internet in the United States of America to the United Nations. One has to ask the basic question as to why anyone would feel that this would be a good thing for America. The short answer is that it is not and never will be a good idea for America. The United Nations has repeatedly shown itself to be a corrupt, inept, inefficient and expensive entity with no accountability for its actions and is unwilling to police itself. So ceding anything to the UN is unwise and ill advised, especially the means by which we share information.
The internet has created new ways to share information beyond that traditionally provided by the main stream media. It has flourished because the main stream media no longer performs the function the media performed when our country was founded and up until the past 20 or so years. The press used to be a powerful force in ferreting out waste and corruption. Today they decide which items are news worthy and which are not based upon their bias. They do not publish information that does not support their agenda. They have shown this repeatedly by not reporting some news, actually slanting and/or distorting some items and providing a lot of coverage for news that supports their liberal agenda. There are examples of this occurring virtually every day, if you just look around.
So what do you think will happen if we cede control of the internet in America to the UN? Do you think they will censor stories they don’t like? Do you think they will impede the free flow of ideas and information vital to our country and our society? I believe they will, to the detriment of America.
At this moment the only way we (and that includes you) have to stop this is to remove funding for this destruction of free communications. Failure to do so will result in our continuing slide from being the greatest country on the planet to being another third world banana republic. We are already there because this administration refuses to enforce all of our laws and allows certain elites to violate our laws without consequences. Without the free flow of information through the internet, we would not have known about many of these abuses. Failure to keep the internet free and unimpeded will allow this and future administrations to more effectively hide their abuses and illegal activities.
Please do your job and block funding for transferring the control of the internet to the UN.
